Objects from memory

Stage Eleven Seven is a home furnishings and lifestyle brand deeply rooted in the intersecting worlds of film and fashion, steeped in the ethos of Old Hollywood glamour.

The brainchild of Victoria Brynner, Stage Eleven Seven draws inspiration from its founder’s broad résume in production, consulting, and brand development, as well as her experience growing up as the child of Hollywood icon Yul Brynner and Doris Brynner, a fixture on the international fashion and home decorating scenes for decades. Evoking images of classic Hollywood movie lots, the name of the company is also a nod to Yul Brynner’s birthday on July 11, 1920.

Raised in Switzerland, with frequent trips to see her estimable father on set in Los Angeles, Victoria Brynner conceived Stage Eleven Seven as an homage to things past—the creative ferment of movie studios of yesteryear; the energy of a star-studded sound stage; the sun-kissed allure of Beverly Hills in the 1960s; and all the myriad faces and places that conspired to make Hollywood a global beacon of beauty and chic. At the same time, Stage Eleven Seven embraces the seductive spirit of modern Hollywood, which remains an epicenter of desire and imagination, a place of dreams.

“The chair represents a cherished childhood memory of visiting my father when he was working. Wherever he was filming, the chair went with him. It encapsulates his refined taste and incredible savoir vivre.”— Victoria Brynner, Founder

Stage Eleven Seven’s first offering is the Yul director’s chair, a contemporary reinterpretation of Yul Brynner’s own on-set chair, custom designed by the actor himself in the 1950s. Echoing the details of the original, and redolent of the era in which it was first produced, the Yul chair is handmade in Los Angeles of quilted black leather on a hard maple frame with discreet bronze details—a sophisticated, high-style take on the humble chairs that have come to symbolize the director’s art. As comfortable as it is elegant, the chair is available in both standard and bar heights, suitable for a desk, dining room, card table, vanity, dressing room, or any other living space.

As a companion piece to the Yul chair, Stage Eleven Seven has also reimagined the utilitarian apple box, another ubiquitous staple of film sets. Made of lacquered high quality plywood and inscribed with the Stage Eleven Seven logo, the box is an object of convenience and curiosity. Whether it’s used as a foot stool or art pedestal or simply as a podium to lift a printer off the floor, the Apple box literally and figuratively elevates anything placed atop it.
